Award Nominations - Dundee Waterfront Development
Panmure short listed for 'Conversion' and 'Waterside' categories at inaugural Scottish Home Awards.

The Panmure development on Dundee's waterfront has been short listed for two more national awards, following its win for the Premier Guarantee Best Medium Residential Development in 2007.

Unicorn Property Group’s Panmure Development has been announced as finalists in the
Best Scottish Conversion and Waterside Homes categories of the inaugural Scottish Homes Awards.

Panmure is a blend of new builds and careful renovations on the site of the Victorian shipwright yards which built Captain Scott’s Discovery – uniquely set on the banks of the magnificent River Tay.

A spokesperson for the developer, Unicorn Property Group, commented that Panmure had been recognised both for its skill in converting the old buildings and for its new build apartments: "Our belief has always been that the Panmure site is one of the most stunning locations in our beautiful country, right on the River Tay and just minutes away from Dundee city centre.

"We were very aware of our responsibilities when we planned this site: we inherited part of the city's maritime heritage in the old shipwright buildings, a key site at the entrance to the city, and our development is a high profile neighbour to Dundee Council's 30 year waterfront plan."

Panmure's Heritage development at Chandlers Lane, is nominated in the Conversion of the Year Category. Here, Unicorn has created twenty townhouses and nine apartments from the restored shipwright buildings, centred on a carefully recreated Victorian cobbled street, kept car free for residents and waterfront visitors to enjoy an amenity which celebrates Dundee's maritime history.

Panmure's Contemporary element – the thirty seven apartments of Unicorn and Panmure Courts and seven modern townhouses – includes balconies, feature windows and open plan living rooms and bedrooms overlooking the River Tay.

Unicorn stated: "We are delighted to be nominated in both awards as it shows that the industry has recognised our efforts to make best use of the historical aspects of the site - and the outstanding quality of the new builds."

The winners of the Scottish Home Awards - www.scottishhomeawards.com will be announced on 10th April 2008.
