Peter Hookham is one of the founding Directors of Unicorn and comes from a diverse background in private equity, venture capital and corporate finance. Peter began work after academic study with venture capitalist 3i, moving to Deloitte and Touche’s corporate finance team in Glasgow in 1992. The expertise he gained here in MBO/ MBIs and other high octane ventures, served him well when he moved to Clydesdale Bank in 1995, becoming the head of their development capital subsidiary, Clydesdale Bank Equity Ltd.

Peter left Clydesdale in 1999, and set up his own consultancy managing a portfolio of early stage, high tech investments for 3i, amongst other clients. He also served as a highly active non-executive director of 7 entrepreneurial companies, before joining Steven Garry in a Valequest venture in 2004, Meadowside Residential Ltd. Peter achieved a First in Geography at Exeter in 1982, and received a Natural Environment Research Council Studentship Award, which saw him study for his Ph.D at the University of Aberdeen until 1985.
